On September 19, 2024, the first Joint meeting of the Shanghai Shipping Law Community and the Seminar on Promoting the Innovation of the Rules of the Maritime Arbitration System was held at the North Bund of Hongkou to interpret and release the work results related to shipping law, and summarize and exchange the work progress of the member units of the community. Wu Jianyong, Party secretary and director of the Municipal Justice Bureau, Yu Fulin, Party secretary and director of the Municipal Transportation Commission, and Li Qian, Party secretary of Hongkou District attended the meeting. Thirty-three members of the Shanghai Shipping Law Community, including relevant government departments, judicial organs, arbitration institutions, law schools, industry associations and shipping enterprises, sent representatives to attend the meeting. Yao Hongmin, Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Guozhong, attended the joint meeting and made an exchange speech at the seminar on Promoting the innovation of rules of maritime arbitration system.

Deputy Secretary-General Yao Hongmin shared the practice of Shanghai COAC in the field of aviation arbitration from the two aspects of innovation of aviation arbitration system and aviation arbitration rules. He introduced the establishment of the Air Arbitration Court and the establishment of the expert committee, analyzed the characteristics of the Air Arbitration Court's acceptance of cases in the past ten years, and introduced the establishment of the Air Silk Road Investment and Trade Dispute Settlement Center by Shanghai Guozhong. He said that the first professional aviation arbitration rules in China issued by Shanghai Guozhong in November 2023 have innovatively explored arbitration rules from five specific aspects, effectively responding to the dispute resolution needs of the aviation industry in terms of professionalism, procedural convenience, and information confidentiality. In the future, SCO will continue to give full play to its own functions and advantages, deepen practical cooperation and exchanges with the Shanghai Shipping Law Community, and better serve and guarantee the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center and International Commercial arbitration Center.
